NAU appeals to farmers to allow ECN officials on property

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is in the final stages of preparing for the 2025 Regional Council and Local Authority elections, scheduled for 26 November 2025.

As part of these preparations, the ECN will roll out a nationwide voter and civic education campaign from September to November. The campaign is designed to ensure that all eligible Namibians, including those living and working on commercial farms, are well informed about the electoral process and ready to exercise their democratic rights.

In light of this, the ECN has appealed to farm owners to allow officials to visit farms for voter education and, where applicable, to facilitate voting.

The ECN expressed its appreciation to the Namibian Agricultural Union for its ongoing support in promoting electoral awareness, emphasising the importance of ensuring farmworkers have access to voter education and electoral information.

The NAU has requested schedules with contact names and numbers of regional representatives, which will be shared in due course.
