Old Mutual Wealth brings global pitch to Namibia

Old Mutual Wealth has hosted a series of intermediary engagements in Windhoek and Swakopmund, bringing together financial advisers from both cities to explore personalised investment strategies for high-net-worth clients across local and global markets.

The events, held under the theme "Bespoke Portfolios, Investing Without Borders", centred on the company's Private Clients offering, a suite of customised investment solutions built on what Old Mutual Wealth describes as a disciplined, specialist approach to portfolio management.

"Intermediaries are at the heart of what we do," said an Old Mutual Wealth representative. "These engagements are about equipping them with the tools and insights to deliver truly personalised outcomes for their clients, wherever those opportunities may lie."

Discussions covered the construction of portfolios that cross geographical boundaries while remaining anchored to individual client goals, risk appetites, and investment horizons. Participants heard how the Private Clients team designs mandates across multiple asset classes, incorporating both local and international holdings, discretionary mandates, and direct investments.

Global diversification featured prominently across both sessions, with the Private Clients team outlining how investors can access foreign equities, exchange-traded funds, bonds, offshore unit trusts, and structured products through Old Mutual Wealth's investment platform.

The company's investment philosophy, centred on quality businesses, rigorous valuation, broad diversification, and long-term patience, was also presented as a distinguishing feature of the offering.

"We are not chasing short-term noise," said a portfolio manager at the event. "Our clients benefit from a consistent philosophy applied by experienced people who understand both the local context and the global landscape."

Old Mutual Wealth said its Private Clients business manages assets in excess of R80 billion, supported by a team of portfolio managers, fiduciary specialists, and wealth directors.

Beyond the technical content, the Windhoek and Swakopmund events were framed as relationship-building exercises, an effort by Old Mutual Wealth to deepen its ties with intermediaries in Namibia and position itself as a long-term partner in growing their practices.

The company said the engagements reflected its broader commitment to providing intermediaries with access to world-class investment products, enabling them to offer differentiated solutions to clients seeking to build and preserve wealth across generations.
