BIPA expands presence with new Ongwediva office

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA) is excited to announce the official opening of its new office in Ongwediva, which marks a significant step in BIPA's decentralisation strategy, aimed at improving accessibility to key business registration and intellectual property services for entrepreneurs and companies in the northern regions of Namibia.

The new office, located at the David Shikomba Business Park, opened its doors on Friday, 15 November 2024 and will provide a wide range of services, including name reservations, business registration, intellectual property rights protection and more. By expanding its physical presence in the northern part of the country, BIPA aims to make its services more accessible to businesses and individuals in Oshana, Omusati, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, and partially the Kavango regions, helping to foster a more inclusive and efficient business environment.

BIPA Acting CEO, Ainna Kaundu stated, "We are proud to extend our services to Ongwediva, which is an important economic hub in the northern part of Namibia. This new office reflects our commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and businesses at all stages of their growth, from registration to the protection of intellectual property. By providing these services closer to our clients, we are removing barriers to access and contributing to the growth of Namibia's entrepreneurial landscape."

BIPA plays a crucial role in Namibia's economic development by facilitating business growth and protecting intellectual property, and the new office in Ongwediva supports the authority's long-term goal of creating a business-friendly environment across the country.

Kaundu adds, "The decentralisation of our services allows us to better meet the needs of the Namibian business community, ensuring that businesses from all corners of the country have equal access to the support they need to thrive. This is an exciting milestone and we look forward to continuing our work to make business services accessible to all Namibians."
