SAA to launch Cape Town-Mauritius route by December

South African Airways (SAA) will introduce its first-ever direct flights between Cape Town and Mauritius from 9 December 2025 – a move that expands its network and enhances travel options for leisure and business passengers in the Western Cape.

The airline will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with departure times to suit peak holiday schedules.

Outbound flights will depart from Cape Town at 09:25am and arrive in Mauritius at 4:30pm, while return flights will leave at 5:20pm and land in Cape Town at 9:30pm.

“Connecting Cape Town with Mauritius is a fascinating achievement that our team has been aspiring towards for quite some time. The introduction of this route demonstrates SAA’s role in promoting leisure travel across the region and supports the broader tourism objectives for both South Africa and Mauritius,” said SAA CEO John Lamola.

SAA confirmed that between mid-January and mid-March 2026, the service will be reduced to two weekly flights to align with seasonal demand.

Tebogo Tsimane, SAA’s chief commercial officer, added that the schedule was designed in collaboration with tour operators.

“This convenience of the flight schedule was carefully developed through rigorous engagement with our South African tour operator partners, to ensure it aligns with traveler preferences and peak holiday planning, fulfilling our mission to offer our customers greater flexibility and convenience.”

Bookings are now open on the airline’s website or through accredited travel agents.
