Information for oil participation

Namibia Oil and Gas launched its second bi-annual Industry Report last week, bringing together key stakeholders to reflect on the country’s rapidly evolving energy landscape. The event was supported by Africa Provider Offshore Services.

The report provides data-driven analysis and strategic insights into developments shaping Namibia’s oil and gas sector. The launch attracted senior executives, policymakers, financial institutions, and industry professionals, highlighting strong local and international interest in Namibia’s growing energy potential.

Sanjay Korteweg, founding partner of Namibia Oil and Gas, said at the event: “This bi-annual Industry Report reflects how far Namibia’s oil and gas sector has progressed. It is about sharing credible insights, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring stakeholders remain aligned as the sector continues to mature.”

He added that the initiative ensures industry information remains accessible to Namibians and evolves alongside the sector.

Véronique Herman, CEO of Africa Provider Offshore Services, emphasised the importance of reliable data for local companies seeking to participate meaningfully in the sector, noting that informed decision-making is critical in a high-risk industry. She added that it is essential for Namibian companies within the energy sector to support one another, as they are stronger together.

Presenting the report, Namibia Oil and Gas co-founder Cobus Theyse highlighted its practical value, explaining that it offers a clear snapshot of key projects, exploration activity, and supply-chain developments, enabling stakeholders to identify opportunities and better understand Namibia’s evolving energy ecosystem.

The report provides a high-level overview of oil and gas developments and their future prospects.

Beyond the formal launch, the event created space for constructive dialogue on long-term sector development, risk management, and sustainable growth, reinforcing the report’s role as a trusted reference point for Namibia’s emerging energy industry, according to Teneal Goagoses, who manages content for social media and the Namibia Oil and Gas website.
