Submit animal health declarations before month-end

Livestock farmers are reminded that the deadline for the mandatory bi-annual Animal Health Declaration is fast approaching. All producers must submit their declarations for the July–December 2025 reporting period by 31 January 2026.

The Animal Health Declaration is a compulsory official document required every six months. This data is critical for the national State Veterinary Office to monitor animal disease trends, manage potential outbreaks, and fulfil international reporting obligations to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).

Consequences of non-compliance

Timely submission is essential for maintaining business continuity. The Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia warns that stock brands or producers who fail to submit their documentation within the 30-day window will face restrictions. These restrictions will remain in place until the required paperwork is processed, potentially halting the movement and sale of livestock.

Submission methods

Authorities strongly encourage producers to use the NamLITS online system as the primary and most efficient method for filing.

Other available options include:

• NamLITS Portal: Complete the form directly online for the fastest processing.

• Email: Send completed forms to Animal.Health@mawf.gov.na . Producers should ensure they receive an acknowledgment of receipt.

• Physical submission: Forms can be downloaded from the Livestock and Livestock Products Board website or collected at district State Veterinary offices.

Note: Farmers hand-delivering forms to State Veterinary offices should insist on official proof of receipt to protect their status.
