Agra Agricultural Academy caps 29 students
Agra ProVision hosted the graduation ceremony for the Agra Agricultural Academy at the Agra Bank Windhoek Ring on 6 March. The event saw 29 students complete their professional training, boosting the expansion of technical agricultural skills within the farming sector.
Graduates completed curricula including the National Diploma in Animal Production and the National Diploma in Animal Production, specialising in Animal Health and Biosecurity. National Certificates were obtained in: Agricultural Sales and Services, Animal Production, Plant Production, Animal Production Specialising in Beef Production, as well as Animal Production specialising in Animal Health and Biosecurity.
“These competencies position you not merely as employees but as a solution provider. Namibia needs graduates who are not only job seekers but job creators. Agriculture offers enormous entrepreneurial potential. By starting small and growing strategically, you can create employment not only for yourself, but for others too,” said Dr Fiona Anderson, Manager of Agra ProVision, during the capping ceremony.
The academy continues to operate under the administration of Agra ProVision, facilitating ongoing vocational development in the region.
Academic recognition was awarded to five top-performing students who achieved high honours across three disciplines: Animal Production: Ndungaua Ruhumba (98%); Plant Production: Lliami Simuketa (96%) and Margareth Marurungu (96%); Agri Sales and Services: Angelika Haimbodi (94%) and Kaitondjamba Kandukira (93%).
Addressing the attendees, Griffort Beukes, Agra Executive Manager: Human Resources, highlighted the significance of the graduates’ achievements and reflected on the continued growth of the Agra Agricultural Academy, which plays an important role in developing practical agricultural skills and empowering individuals within the industry.
The ceremony was attended by Agra CEO Arnold Klein, management officials and industry partners. The official capping of graduates was conducted by Anderson and Johann Stassen, Managing Director of the International Agricultural Academy for Africa.
The 2026 graduating class included students supported by various corporate and national entities. Sponsoring partners identified during the proceedings included Nedbank Namibia, the Namibia Agricultural Board, Rössing Uranium, and the National Disability Council of Namibia.
