2025 Agra Weaner Championship Series Kicks Off 14th Edition

The highly anticipated 14th edition of the 2025 Agra Weaner Championship Series was officially launched on 8 May 2025, sparking renewed enthusiasm across Namibia’s cattle farming community.

Running from 10 June to 4 September 2025, the series will feature 18 competitive auctions from Karasburg to Grootfontein, as well as a key communal auction at Okakarara, reinforcing Agra’s commitment to support producers across the country.

The Agra Weaner Championship Series celebrates and rewards excellence in weaner calf production and farming practices, offering producers a national stage to benchmark their animals and share best practices.

This respected series not only stimulates the local beef industry by generating significant cash flow but also elevates standards within Namibia’s beef value chain through healthy competition and recognition.

Judging remains rigorous and fair, with calves competing in three key categories: feedlot potential (tollies), field potential (tollies) and breeding potential (heifers).

Awards are presented at each auction to the top three performers in every category, culminating in the announcement of regional and national champions at the prestigious gala event later this year.

The series also continues to recognize buyers’ crucial contributions, awarding prizes to those who invest the most in the series and who purchase the largest number of animals.

Arnold Klein, chief executive officer of Agra, opened the series with a strong message of purpose and partnership.

“At Agra, we are committed to uplifting and advancing agriculture to the fullest extent of our abilities, because agriculture is not merely part of what we do - it is the very core of who we are,” he said.

Guided by Agra’s mission to grow its business while delivering value to all stakeholders, and anchored in its core values of integrity, care for the land, results-driven service, and investing in people, Agra continues to play a pivotal role in advancing Namibian agriculture.

“Our generation holds the key to safeguarding the future of agriculture,” Klein emphasised. “What we build today determines what we leave for tomorrow. We sincerely thank every producer, partner, and sponsor for recognising the immense importance of this industry and for committing to its growth and protection.”

Agra extends its deepest gratitude to its event partners, whose unwavering support makes the Agra Weaner Championship Series possible.
