Munich-Windhoek flights unlock new doors for tourism
Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage and world-class hospitality are now closer than ever for European travellers, thanks to Discover Airlines’ new direct route between Munich and Windhoek that was launched on Wednesday.
Corporate relations manager for the Ohlthaver & List Group, Roux-ché Locke, said that this milestone marks a significant expansion of travel accessibility to Namibia, making it easier for both tourists and business travellers to explore the heart of Southern Africa.
Locke said that this exciting development aligns with O&L Leisure’s commitment to offering guests an unparalleled experience of Namibia’s beauty and warm hospitality.
“The airline’s new route, operating three times a week with a travel time of just nine hours and 30 minutes, complements the existing daily Frankfurt to Windhoek connection, providing seamless travel options for visitors eager to immerse themselves in Namibia’s diverse offerings.”
Discover Airlines connect Munich and Windhoek on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays in addition to the daily flights between Frankfurt and Windhoek.
O&L Leisure welcomed this new connection as an opportunity to showcase Namibia as a premier travel destination.
Locke said with luxury stays at Mokuti Etosha Lodge and the Strand Hotel Swakopmund visitors will now have even greater ease in crafting their perfect Namibian itinerary.
“We are ecstatic about this direct route from Munich, which will provide European travellers with easier access to Namibia and, in turn, to the extraordinary experiences we offer at O&L Leisure,” said Sven Thieme, O&L Leisure managing director and executive chairman of the Ohlthaver & List Group.
Operated by Discover Airlines, a member of the Lufthansa Group, the new route will be serviced by the Airbus A330 fleet, offering economy, premium economy and business class options.
