Nedbank Namibia launches #GetMoneyFit movement in financial wellness

Nedbank Namibia has officially launched its #GetMoneyFit campaign, a move aimed at empowering Namibians to take control of their financial wellbeing. The campaign encourages individuals to build consistent, intentional money habits that lead to long-term financial strength—regardless of income level or life stage.

Coinciding with the launch of the Nedbank Desert Dash, the campaign reflects Nedbank’s holistic commitment to the wellbeing of Namibians, both physically and financially. While the Nedbank Desert Dash celebrates physical endurance, #GetMoneyFit is about financial endurance: the daily discipline, reflection, and resilience required to build a secure financial future.

According to JG van Graan, Nedbank Namibia's chief commercial officer, turning abstract financial ideas into tangible realities is vital in building a deeper understanding of our emotional relationship with money. "We want to equip people with the know-how and tools to develop intentional habits that will compound over time and lead to lasting financial success," said van Graan.

"Very few people start a fitness journey as experts with an 8 to 12-week programme already mapped out. Often, we need a bit of handholding – a coach, a system, a guide. That's the role Nedbank is stepping into providing solutions that align the habits you practise today with the financial goals you want to achieve tomorrow

“#GetMoneyFit is not a product or a pitch—it’s a philosophy,” he added.

The campaign is built on the insight that financial fitness, like physical fitness, is achieved through consistent effort and the right support. It starts with understanding your current financial health—asking honest questions like: Where am I now? What habits do I need to change? What goals do I want to reach?

To support this journey, Nedbank offers several interventions including the Nedbank Money App, which acts as a digital coach—offering budgeting tools, spending trackers, and credit score dashboards to help users stay on track and make informed decisions.

“We live in a world where financial stress is real,” van Graan said. “We also live in a world where small, intentional actions, repeated over time, can lead to transformation. Financial fitness isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress.”

The #GetMoneyFit campaign is designed to be inclusive and accessible. Whether you’re a student, a parent, a professional, or a retiree, financial wellness is within reach. The campaign encourages Namibians to take the first step, whether that’s setting a savings goal, reviewing a budget, or simply becoming more mindful about spending.

“Just like training for a race, financial fitness requires commitment,” van Graan concluded. “And Nedbank is here to be your partner in that journey. Together, we can build a Namibia that is not only physically strong but financially empowered.”
