Momentum Investments sets the tone for localisation
Momentum Asset Management Namibia has officially launched its active equity capability from its new office in the Millennial Building, located at the corner of Robert Mugabe and Dr. A.B. May Streets in Windhoek. This marks a significant milestone in Momentum Investments’ strategy to strengthen its local presence and provide improved investment solutions to the Namibian market.
This strategic initiative reinforces Momentum Investments’ commitment to localisation by establishing a comprehensive equity capability within the country—positioning the
business to unlock value for both Namibian and South African markets. This development highlights Momentum’s focus on building high-performance, locally developed investment expertise that aligns with the evolving needs of Namibians.
The introduction of active equity management is a proactive response to the increasing demand for tailored investment strategies and aligns seamlessly with the company’s
leading Outcome-Based Investing (OBI) philosophy.
“This is not just a growth initiative,” said Jason Hailonga, MD of Momentum Asset Management Namibia. “The launch of our active equity capability represents an exciting advancement that will enable us to grow our assets under management while nurturing local talent and creating opportunities for Namibians to become equity analysts and, eventually, seasoned portfolio managers.”
The new capability is led by John-Morgan Bezuidenhout, portfolio manager, whose expertise - combined with Hailonga’s leadership -forms the foundation of a high-performance investment team. The focus is on delivering superior insights and long-term value for investors while supporting the growth of a resilient and inclusive non-banking financial sector.
This launch coincides with Momentum Investments Namibia’s move to its newly established offices in the iconic Millennial Building, which symbolises a fresh chapter for the company as it deepens its roots in the Namibian market.
As part of its long-term strategy, Momentum Investments aims to attract a broader investor base through a diverse range of equity strategies, ultimately contributing to the development and maturity of the Namibian investment landscape.
“With this capability in place, we are not only enhancing our service offerings but also laying the groundwork for long-term, sustainable impact across the region,” Hailonga added.
