#JustIn: Capricorn Group pumps N$25.8 mln into CSR projects
Locally-listed Capricorn Group, including the Capricorn Foundation and its subsidiaries Bank Windhoek, Capricorn Asset Management, Entrepo and Bank Gaborone, has invested N$25.8 million in corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes and projects in Namibia and Botswana during its financial year ended 30 June 2024.
This is nearly 19% more than the previous book-year.
The Capricorn Foundation invested N$11.1 million in projects across its five focus areas:
Education and training – N$5.1 million
Economic advancement – N$2.1 million
Vulnerability initiatives – N$2.6 million
Health – N$300 000
Sustainability programmes – N$1 million
“We are proud of the incredible work of the Capricorn Foundation, which is the main driver of the Group’s CSR initiatives and those of the subsidiaries. This year, we increased our CSR contributions, built relationships with long-standing and new partners, and rethought how we will measure our impact in the future,” said Marlize Horn, group executive: brand and corporate affairs of Capricorn Group and executive officer of the Capricorn Foundation.
